As we all know, Southwest Florida is home to a significant amount of seasonal residents that enjoy the benefits of the beautiful Florida weather for half of the year. Since a lot of our clients divide their time between two or more locations they have brought up valid points concerning their projects or repair needs if they are out of town. Fortunately, we live in an age of rapid communication and technology that keeps everyone connected no matter how far we are apart.

For simple service calls and screen repairs we can do any job with a signed agreement, which can be electronically signed, along with a copy of the client’s driver’s license. Our staff can send pre and post job photos to meet your satisfaction needs.

New construction projectshave a multi-step process that requires permitting, engineering, construction, and county inspection. Every new construction client is assigned a project manager from the Gulf Coast Aluminum team to execute and update the homeowner during the job process. I have managed several jobs where the homeowners were up north for a significant duration of the time, which involved me giving them continuous updates about their project. They came home to their beautifully designed project and were extremely pleased. The Gulf Coast Aluminum team strives to make the construction process easy for homeowners, especially if they are out of town but there are some important documents that the homeowner needs to sign and submit.

1.) Agreement – The homeowner will sign an official agreement with Gulf Coast Aluminum accompanied by a copy of his/her driver’s license. As mentioned earlier this can be done electronically via fax or email.

2.) Notice of Commencement – The homeowner will be provided with a notice of commencement that must be notarized and filed with the county clerk of courts.  In some cases this can be emailed to us but most counties require a wet ink copy which must be mailed.

3.) *Home Owner’s Association Approval* – Every homeowner’s association has different requirements and Gulf Coast Aluminum prepares all of the necessary documents for your submittal. We will work closely to ensure you have all the correct documentation but the submittal is done by the homeowner, who historically has a much closer relationship with the HOA board members.

Our staff is well trained at dealing with several county requirements, building requirements, and homeowner’s association requirements. Don’t hesitate to contact our staff if you are uncertain with any project details, even if you aren’t physically present at the job location.
