With bugs out and about, it’s important to check if the screens of your enclosure have no tears or other damages. That’s why this week, we restored an enclosure and screened in the front entryway of a client from Cape Coral. Not only did Ms. Jacobs want to get a re-screen, but she also wanted to make the enclosure look brand new again.
This is what her old pool cage looked like. It had rusty fasteners, faded paint, and discolored frames. She availed our Value Restoration Package, which includes re-screening, repainting, and replacing the fasteners using different materials to lower the cost of the project.
Before we started, we made sure to cover the pool and deck with plastic to prevent getting debris or paint on them. Next, we removed the old screen mesh and disposed of it. For the fasteners, all the old and rusted fasteners are replaced with ceramic coated steel. Then we repainted the entire cage with Sherwin Williams DTM Tough Trim. Lastly, we re-screened the entire enclosure using Standard Phifer 18/14. This mesh can withstand strong thunderstorm force winds for some time over 10 years. All screens are durable when it’s newly installed, but this mesh will only be easily tearable from a regular storm after 7 to 15 years. In addition, we installed a splashguard for this enclosure.
We also screened-in her front entryway. The frames were cut on-site and we also installed a standard oversize 46″x96″ door. Similar to the enclosure, we also used Standard Phifer 18/14 for this front entryway.
We completed this project in less than a week. Our client is glad that her pool enclosure looks brand new again and she has a new beautiful front entryway to prevent bugs from entering her home.
