We recently completed an enclosure restoration and picture window conversion project for a client in Naples. After Mr. Lamettry saw our picture window conversion projects online, he called us to convert his. He also wanted to make it look brand new again and hired us to restore it as well.

For this project, our client availed the Silver Clearview Conversion, which includes re-engineering the entire front wall into a picture window. He also added the Lifetime Restoration Package, which includes re-screening, repainting with High solids Polyurethane 2 part epoxy far better than any factory, and replacing the fasteners with lifetime warranty stails steel tapcons with finish. These are better materials that come with a longer warranty.

But before we got started, we first had to prepare the permits, engineering, and site plans. We can efficiently get this process done and our client didn’t have to wait that long since we can get permits faster than anyone else.

After settling the permits, we head on-site. We first covered the entire pool and deck with plastic to avoid getting any debris or paint drops on it. For the frames, we pre-cut everything to size in our shop, so we bring them to the site and easily install it. Check out the before and work-in-progress photo above. This picture window has a span size of 54′ and converted it into a clear view by using new vertical posts that are solid and not stitched. For the fasteners, we used #16 size fasteners for optimal strength and connection efficiency, ensuring that the structure is durable even with fewer frames.

Next, we continued with the restoration process. Here is what the old enclosure looked like. It had rusty fasteners and discolored frames. We first replaced all the fasteners with Blue-tap Nylotech and Stainless Pro-Tect Tapcons. Next, we made the old bronze enclosure look brand new using Custom Cream Sherwin Williams Hi-Solids Polyurethane, which was sprayed on electrostatically. Our client upgraded the screen type, so we used Superscreen 17/20 or No-See-Um. It looks dark because it is thicker and tighter than a standard screen, but it doesn’t change the outward visibility.

It took us less than two weeks to complete this project. Our client is glad that there are no more frames obstructing the view and it looks great again. With the materials we used, our client won’t need an upgrade for a long time.
